This employment opportunity is with the OHA Office of Program Integrity, under the Oregon Health Authority (OHA). There is one full-time, permanent position located in Salem (500 Summer Street NE). This position is classified and represented by a union.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Research Analyst – Program Integrity will be part of the OHA Fiscal and Operations Division under the Program Integrity Unit. The mission of this unit is to assure program integrity of the Medicaid program. This position performs integral research functions for conducting compliance audits of providers participating in OHA/DHS programs. The audit function is designed to deter medical program Fraud and Abuse, and to monitor and ensure provider compliance with Federal, State, and Agency rules and regulations.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A Bachelor's Degree in any disciplines that included six-quarter units in statistics or quantitative analysis methods and procedures, and three years of experience using computerized applications to independently gather, compile, and analyze data and prepare narrative or statistical reports. Two of the three years must have included coordinating complex research projects.

OR

Five years of research experience using computerized applications to independently gather, compile, and analyze data and prepare narrative or statistical reports. Two of the five years must have included coordinating complex research projects.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
• Experience in using trends such as social, economic, or industrial to do analytical research.
• Experience using advanced statistical or quantitative analysis computer applications.
• College-level course work in advanced statistics or quantitative analysis that includes such methods as multiple regression, factor analysis, analysis of variances, and discriminate analysis.


DESIRED ATTRIBUTES:
• Proficiency with Microsoft Access.
• A working knowledge of medical terminology, medical coding and billing and payment of medical procedures.
• Solid understanding of audit processes and procedures.
• Excellent customer services skills for both internal and external customers.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
• Experience in promoting a culturally competent and diverse work environment.
